Match Report: v Westquarter & Redding
on 8th June

Having dismissed Westquarter & Redding for 93 in Sunday’s East League Division 3 match at Philiphaugh, Selkirk supporters’ hopes were high their team could go on to secure a win over the bottom-placed club.

The visitors had other ideas, however, dismissing their hosts for 87 in the 32nd over to record a narrow seven-run victory; the home batters had no answer to the fiery pace of Westquarter bowlers Shenaz (3/11), Mazhar (3/15) and Haider (3/18).

Only a superb innings of 62 by opener Michael Fenton kept Selkirk in the game, with his team-mates mustering just 15 runs between them.
